Terms of Use

Please read section 5 carefully. AquaGuru provides calculated guidance and AI-generated suggestions for aquarium care. Living animals and plants are involved — you remain responsible for verifying any dose or advice before applying it to your tank.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the developer of AquaGuru ("AquaGuru", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the AquaGuru app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The service

AquaGuru is a mobile application that helps aquarium hobbyists manage tanks: it computes water volumes, generates dosing and water-change guidance, tracks water parameters, and provides AI-assisted features such as photo-based algae diagnosis and a chat assistant ("AquaAI"). Features may change, improve, or be discontinued over time.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use AquaGuru. You may delete your account at any time in the app's Profile section.

4. Subscriptions and purchases

Some features require a paid subscription ("AquaGuru Pro"). Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store terms; we cannot issue refunds directly.

5. Important disclaimer — aquarium guidance and AI content

Dosing amounts, water-change recommendations, stocking guidance, compatibility warnings, and all AquaAI outputs (including photo diagnoses and chat responses) are provided for informational purposes only. They are calculated from the data you enter and, for AI features, generated by machine-learning systems that can be wrong.

Always read and follow the actual product label before dosing anything into your aquarium.
Verify AI suggestions against reputable sources before acting, especially where livestock health is concerned.
Estimate mode produces modelled values, not measurements — treat them as rough guidance only.
AquaGuru is not a veterinary, chemical-safety, or professional advisory service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for harm to fish, invertebrates, plants, equipment, or property resulting from reliance on information provided by the app.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create in AquaGuru (tank data, logs, photos). You grant us a limited license to process this content solely to operate the service — for example, storing your tank data on our backend or transmitting a photo you submit for AI diagnosis. We do not use your content to train AI models.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or server credentials of the app;
abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent limits of the AI features or backend services;
use the app for any unlawful purpose or to transmit unlawful content;
resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties as your own offering.

8. Intellectual property

The AquaGuru app, its design, branding, and content (excluding your content) are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store terms.

9. Third-party services

The app relies on third-party services (including Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, Google Firebase, and AI service providers). Their availability is outside our control, and their own terms govern your interaction with them where applicable. AI features require an internet connection and may be temporarily unavailable.

10. Termination

You may stop using AquaGuru and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or where required to protect the service or other users. Sections 5, 6, 8, 11 and 12 survive termination.

11. Warranty disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CALCULATED OR AI-GENERATED OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR AQUARIUM.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, LIVESTOCK, PLANTS, OR EQUIPMENT, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page, and the "Last updated" date will change. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
